Content Management Systems

cms message about updating your own website

Update Your Website Yourself If you want to have total control or need to update your site on a day to day or weekly basis, then you need a website with a content management system. I would recommend a normal HTML/CSS site if this not the case, you can always get a CMS upgrade later if necessary

In general CMS sites are more complicated and take longer to develop.

The Correct Advice For You

A Content Management System is a database driven website, that can be updated dynamically and with its complexity comes a higher price tag. I will give you advice on which system is appropriate for your needs.

The CMS allows you to easily update text, images, add news pages and even new functionality through the administration interface and database. My CMS of choice is the Wordpress platform, which originally was set up for bloggers, but has become one of the popular and powerful CMS to date with a vast range of plugins and support. Joomla is another system I have used in the past, but I believe Wordpress to be easier to use and support.

Benefits Of Wordpress

  • Simple user interface, allowing for changes to be made easily
  • User friendly, you will be updating in no time
  • Extensive supply of plugins for extra functionality
  • A vast online community for tips and advice
  • The cost is kept down as Wordpress is free to set up
  • Great for news pages
  • Constantly updated

Recent Projects

  • Grand Prix Adventures. A redesign of a previous website that was developed for GPA by a different company, they needed the site modernising and more professional looking.

  • Regent Comms. A midlands based electrical contractor needed a new website to portray in a professional way the skills and experience they have to offer their clients. The original site that I developed for them was done about 8 years ago when they were focusing more on the telecom industry.
